  你我他多城相聚  贤人善心襄义举   中韩英同场竞技   多元文化铸友谊              —首届Stanley Financial 加华青高协“PlayForeKids”高球慈善赛   We Met in Toronto， We Worked together for Charity Chinese, Korean, Canadian teams, Competitors and Friends –First Stanley Financial CCJGA “PlayForeKids” Charity Golf Tournament 7月6日的多伦多，加拿大国庆节的热烈气氛还在弥漫，大多高球迷们喜迎Stanley Financial多元文化“帮助孩子”高尔夫慈善赛如期到来。这是由Stanley Financial 冠名赞助，加拿大华人青少年高尔夫协会(CCJGA)主办的首届慈善高尔夫盛事，主办方选中大多最著名的顶级球场Wooden Sticks Golf Club作为赛事场地。本次大赛，主办方邀请到了来自华裔，韩裔和西裔三个社区球友组成的三支参赛队伍共36人；及参加华高巡回赛的其他球友总共69人。 上午10点不到，艳阳高照的40 Elgin Paek Drive,Uxbridge,ON L9P 1N2,Wooden Sticks Golf Inc一派喜庆，主办方“加拿大华人青少年高尔夫协会”(加华青高协CCJGA)的工作人员已经恭候在球场接待处，媒体记者、赞助商、参赛华裔队、韩裔队、西人队以及“迷你高尔夫锦标赛”参赛儿童及家长陆续到来，一时群英毕至，少长云集。 On July 6th, while the holiday spirit of Canada Day remains, and Golfers stayed together to celebrate Stanley Financial Multi-culture Charity Golf Tournament. The title sponsor of this tournament is Stanley Financial, and the main organizer of this event is Canadian Chinese Junior Golf Association (CCJGA). CCJGA had chosen  one of the most famous courses in GTA, Wooden Sticks Golf Club  to hold this tournament.  Chinese, Korean, and Canadian teams came to the tournament, with 36 players  in total. In addition of players from HuaRenGolf,  we had 69 golfers to play in that day. On July 6 at Wooden Sticks Golf, the weather was extremely nice.  Before 10am, the staff and volunteers from CCJGA had already begun to set up for the event. Later on, the media, sponsors, team players, and children participants of  “Mini Golf Tournament” with their parents have arrived. The registration table was quite busy to welcome all the guests.   计划40人的赛事，加到52人，临比赛前一天又加到69人，仍有数位热情球友无法报上名，无奈球场已经实在挤不出位置了。感谢赛事委员会西裔队代表Dewitt的提议：为了善事，生办法多筹款同时有增加活动趣味性 - 球友自愿多花$20购买第一洞”摸一杆Mulligan’’权限， 并自动进入第17洞水中岛果岭的一杆进洞$200现金奖。 这一项筹到善款$300现金。 新时代电视(FairChild TV)的采访团队“不远万里”，驱车来到４０－５０分钟开外的Wooden Sticks 球场所在地Uxbridge,采访活动主办方CCJGA创始人兼现任会长李刚健(Michael Li)先生， 及参加活动的球友,家长和小朋友们。 The Tournament was planned with 40 players, and then we enlarged the numbers to 52. This was not the end; we required the course to give us 69 spots just one day before the tournament. However, we still had more golfers who would like to join this tournament but were not able to make it since the limit of the course. We could like to give our appreciation to Dewitt who was a representative from western team in the tournament’s committee. He suggested that we should do Mulligan for $20, in order to raise money for charities and make the tournament more interesting. Also, the participants who bought Mulligan would have joined the “hole in one” game automatically. The “hole in one” game indicated that if a golfer could shoot one and get the ball in to the hole on the island green, he or she would have received $200 Cash as reward. For the Mulligan project, CCJGA collected $300 for charities. We also want to give our appreciation to the FairChild TV, since the interview team from FairChild TV drove a long way to Wooden Stick course in order to interview Michael Li the founder and current president of CCJGA, golfers from each team, children who participated in the “Mini Golf Tournament” and their parents.

下午11点，大家集中在美丽的球场山地上，背景是落差10多米的美丽球道和树林，加华青高协李会长宣布了此次高球赛事的意义及解释了比赛规则：本次每队１２名参赛选手，成绩最好的前１０名成绩计入集体成绩，前5名按100%折入总分，后5名成绩折算50%计入，最后按每队总分评出获胜球队 - 一杆进洞或双老鹰为5点，老鹰4点，小鸟球3点，标准杆2点，柏忌1点，双柏忌0点，最后点数最高者折算分数最多为赢。 李会长介绍到：策划此次活动活动只用了不到２周的时间，活动前３天才举办新闻发布会，能有这么多热心球友和赞助企业的支持，他非常感动；他说２０１２年６月注册加华青高协，是基于过去３年来以华人高尔夫网为依托，全年不间断在华人社区推广高尔夫运动的基础上做的决定；三年来，Michael 联合热心的教练Steve Quan, Rachel Ding, Frank Forde等一起， 把数百位华裔青少年领进高尔夫世界；2014年6月，CCJGA荣获2015 多伦多泛美运动Ignity 社区高尔夫项目授权夏令营组织。 At 11am, everyone came to a  rolling hill area  in the practice course, with fairways and forest at back. Michael Li, the president of CCJGA announced the purpose and rules of this tournament. The specific rules of the inter-league golf tournament were: 12 players  per team. The scores of the best 10 players are counted into the team scores. The top 5 scores are counted  in each team 100% to their team scores. Rank 6~10 scores  were counted at 50%. The team with highest total score wins the trophy. Hole in one or double eagles counted for 5pts, eagles for 4 pts, birdie for 3 pts, par for 2pts, boggy for 1pt, double boggies for 0pt. President Li said: CCJGA had only spent two weeks to plan this tournament, and we held the press conference just one week before the tournament. He was very moved by the passion of golfers and sponsors. He indicated that CCJGA was found on June 6th, 2012. The decision to setting up CCJGA was based on the three-year experience of running HuaRenGolf.com and the goal of promoting golf sports continuously. In the past three years, Michael have coordinated several kind-hearted coaches: Steve Quan, Rachel Ding, Frank Forde and so on, to take hundreds of Chinese juniors in to the world of golf. On June 2014, CCJGA was approved by Toronto 2015 Pan-American as their official golf camp organization. 为什么筹办慈善高球活动？并且是多族裔的？为什么选择资助Sick Kids Foundation? 李会长说：第一，召集球友参加高尔夫赛事，大伙娱乐健体的同时，吸引到赞助商捐助的善款可以帮助慈善组织，及支持青少年高球活动地推广， 非常有意义； 第二，华裔社区特别是国语社区， 慈善性质活动还不多，借助本次活动的契机，引导大伙关注慈善事业，尽自己绵薄之力。 本次活动邀请了华裔，韩裔，西裔三支球队，不同族裔的球友在慈善活动中交流，切磋，增进互相了解，促进彼此友谊。众多慈善组织中，优先选择多伦多病童基金会，因为该基金会历史悠久，声誉超卓，为社区居民， 不分族裔， 帮助良多，作为三个孩子的父亲， 他钦佩和感激这个组织。虽然他自己创立的非营利组织CCJGA发展儿童高尔夫也同样亟需基本的运作费用， 但他还是决定， 把绝大部分赞助商的善款捐给Sick Kids Foundation. Why did we hold charity golf tournament? Why was this tournament multi-culture? Why did we choose to support SickKids Foundation? President Li said: Firstly, this tournament brings people together to  have fun and exercise. The tournament motivated  sponsors donating to  the SickKids Foundation and the development of junior golf.  Secondly, Chinese community, especially the Mandarin community held few charity events. Therefore, CCJGA would like to raise the awareness of charity in the community. This tournament invited Chinese, Korean and Canadian to play together, offering  the golfers a good opportunity to make cultural exchanges. Among all of the  charities, CCJGA had selected SickKids Foundation, since SickKids Foundation is a historical and reputable foundation. Furthermore, the SickKids Foundation benefitsl children across Canada. As a father of three kids, president Li respected this organization. Despite the financial needs of CCJGA , he still decided to donate the most money that raised from the tournament to SickKids Foundation.

本次活动吸引了包含华社名人Kenny Wan, 加拿大联邦高尔夫教练协会华人分会主席Tommy Tam, 资深媒体人Patrick Wong,华高协会长何文发，老鹰球会主要领导吕友军，St Lucia 协会会长，多伦多市长竞选人Diweet Lee,韩国运动员协会主席Daniel Kim及其他众多球员总共68人成人，9人儿童的及家长， 义工， 媒体，组织人员等，组成一支近90人的浩浩荡荡的慈善队伍。 美味的Buffet午餐后，大家列队待发，出发前，本次赛事的西裔队队长Frank Forde发表了简短的讲话 - 他对本次赛事的举行表达了衷心的祝贺， 他自己常年组织一个Multi-Cultural Bazar （多元文化集市）的活动，作为加勒比移民， 他和我们一样推崇多元文化精神。 The event attracted celebrities  in Chinese community, such as  Kenny Wan, Canada Union Golf Coach; Association Chinese branch president Tommy Tam; Recongnized  journalist Patrick Wong; the president of HuaRenGolf, Mr. WenFa He; the team lead of Eagles, Youjun Li;  the president of St Lucia, the Toronto mayor candidate Dewitt Lee; the president of Korean Canadian Athlete Association, David Kim; and  others. There are 68 golf players, 9 junior golfers and their parents, volunteers, medias and staff. In total, 90 people attended  this charity event. After the lunch buffet, everyone  was paired up. Before the tournament starts, the team leader  of Canadian team, Frank Forde made a short speech. Frank expressed his hope for the success of this event. Frank had organized a Multi-Culture Bazar himself; as an immigrant came from Caribbean, he also valued the spirit of multi-culture. 下午13:00, Stanley Fiancial “PlayForeKids”多元文化队际赛拉开帷幕，参赛者36人及其他参加华高队际赛的球友们捉队厮杀，一时间，碧绿的草地上，别致的球道中，球友们使尽浑身解数，个个尽扬高球风采。球杆起落处，银色的小球在空中飞舞；迷人的球场中，老鹰球、小鸟球、标准球、柏忌交替演绎。 At 1pm, Stanley Financial “PlayForeKids” Multi-culture Golf Tournament started. The 36 players for inter-league tournament and the golfers for HuaRenGolf monthly tournament were paired; an exciting competition has begun. At that time, the golf balls were flying in the air, and the golfers were devoted. Then, eagles, birdies, pars, and boggies appeared one after another.

下午7点左右，队际赛的球友陆续开始返回到Club House, 成人慈善推杆赛在晚宴厅内拉开帷幕， 感谢 Portable Green 提供专业级别推杆设施。成人慈善推杆赛收取$10入场费，付费者可以获得5次推杆机会，所有推杆比赛收入将被捐助给CCJGA特约教练Frank Forde多元文化集市的长期义工Koday，来资助助这位音乐天才少年进修实现自己的音乐梦想。CCJGA李会长把该活动筹到的$120现金及李会长自己赞助的$50现金总共$170 交由Frank给Koday少年。 At 7pm, the golfers for inter-league tournament returned to the Club House. Then, The Adult Charity Putting competition begun. CCJGA appreciated Portable Green for sponsoring professional putting devices. For putting competition, $10 is charged for each entry, 5 shots for each entry. All fees collected from putting game were used to support CCJGA coach Frank Forde’s long-term volunteer, a talent musician Kody. Kody’s goal is to become professional trumpet player; the fees would help him for going to U.S. for crafting his professional skills.. The president of CCJGA Michael Li gave the $120 raised from the putting competition and $50 personal donation to Frank, on behalf of Kody. 推杆比赛结束后，KennyWan(温建业）先生在所有参加慈善推杆赛的球手中被抽中获得由Frank Forde亲手绘制的精美静物水果水彩画，Congratulations!温先生同时还是本次慈善推杆赛的冠军。

After the putting competition, Kenny Wan won Frank Forde’s pastel drawing as the prize. Congratulations! Mr Wen was also won the first place of this charity putting game.

同场同日，儿童迷你锦标赛是活动另一亮点：7:30pm开打第11， 12， 13号洞，参赛的9位小朋友在家长球童的协助下，享受大多最著名的顶级球场Wooden Sticks的美妙和挑战，家长在身边，小朋友们心情好，发挥好，一招一式，个个颇具小老虎风范！ CCJGA负责人用心良苦，尽一切办法为小球友创造实战竞技氛围， 为参赛小朋友免除果岭费， 真正体现了”PlayForeKids” 的慈善高尔夫精神。 On the same day, children played a mini golf tournament in the same course at 7:30pm.They played at hole# 11, 12 and 13. Companied by parents as the caddies for their children, and the children enjoyed playing golf in the beautiful course like Wooden Stick. The children enjoyed the game and performed well on that day. The director of CCJGA tried his best to set up this mini golf tournament for the children, and he bargained with the course to waive the green fee which expressed the topic of “PlayForeKids”.

本次大赛除了各族裔代表队之间的比拼， 同时也记录所有参赛选手的个人成绩：前三名有奖杯，男女最近旗杆，最远距离奖，及个人总杆成绩也将计入华高7月巡回赛的积分（本届多元文化赛与华高巡回赛7月赛事一起举办）。所以无论是低差点选手还是中初级选手，大家都打得非常认真 - 每球必须进洞才算结束，本来计划6点结束的赛事一直持续到7：30pm. 经过一天激烈角逐，比赛冠亚军尘埃落定，成绩如下： 队际赛冠军：韩裔队- 230.5分 队际赛亚军：华裔队 - 195.0分 队际赛季军：西裔队  -73.0分（球手丢两张记分卡） 个人第一名： Steven Lee (71)-5birdies 个人第二名： Rebecca Lee-Benthan (71) -3birdies（加拿大韩裔著名青年球手） 个人第三名： Thomas Youn (76) Other than the competition between each league, there is an individual competition . This tournament offered trophies for the first three places, the closet to pin and the longest distance reward for men and women. Moreover, we recorded the total shoots for each HuaRenGolf member onto our scores sheet for monthly tournaments. (We had Multi-culture golf tournament and HuaRenGolf monthly tournament on the same day). Therefore, every person had to shoot the ball into holes to record their totally shoots regardless on their handicaps. As an result, the tournament ended at 7:30pm but not 6pm as scheduled.   After finished one day’s competition, we got the winner for each category: The winner of interleague tournament: Korean Team-230.5 The second place of interleague tournament: Chinese Team-195.0 The third place of interleague tournament: Canadian team-73.0 The first place for individual: Steven Lee (71)-5birdies The second place for individual: Rebecca Lee-Benthan (71) -3birdies (Famous Canadian Korean junior golfer) The third place for individual: Thomas Youn(76)

晚宴于晚上8点半开始，代表华裔，韩裔，西裔的三名主持人Kailin, Sean, Diwett热情洋溢地主持了整场晚会。华人高尔夫网作为赛事指定合作媒体对冠名赞助商Stanley Financial 的创始人 Stanley Wong进行了采访，王先生对本次大赛的顺利举办表达了由衷地祝贺，并且他表示会支持此项赛事能够成为例行年度赛事，定期于每年7月份第一个礼拜日举办。他许诺将会继续赞助支持明年PlayForeKids 多元文化慈善高球赛。   晚会从慈善拍卖开始，感谢A99 Gol，Green Field及柳泉酒庄赞助了一系列高球用品和美酒：2合1硬顶航空包，便携练习球包，双层高尔夫伞，皮革衣物包，捡球器,Callawy Golf 球及6支顶级白葡萄酒。感谢华高协会长何文发，温建业会计师，加拿大高球教练协会华裔分会主席Tommy Tam金牌地产经纪Victor Li等都慷慨解囊够买彩票，最后所有慈善礼品都成功拍出，筹得善款$255. 华高协会长何文发抽得最大奖A99 Golf 高球旅游伴侣Hybrid Bag, Tommy 抽得精致的a99 golf 衣物包，St Lucia 协会会长抽得Green Field 赞助的Callaway Golf 球， 华高协理事陈雪峰抽得A99 Golf 捡球器，及几乎每桌都有球友踊跃购买慈善美酒请同桌球友品尝。 晚上9：30点左右，最有意义的一幕出现了：主持人宣布CCJGA捐赠支票仪式开始。 加华青高协会长李刚健偕同冠名赞助商Stanley Wang, 西裔队队长Frank Forde, 韩裔队队长Sean Kim, 华裔队队长何文发一起向Sick Kids 基金会代表Lisa Waler 转赠$1000的慈善支票。 李会长表示，首次慈善赛，能支持病童基金会总金额不大，但礼轻人意重，通过这次的磨练， 经验丰富了， 必定能吸引更多赞助商投入到这项慈善事业中， 为慈善组织筹到更多善款。接着， CCJGA李会长发表讲话：深深地感谢冠名赞助商Stanley Financial 王总的慷慨，并为他颁发了CCJGA和病童基金会的感谢状及授予他“2014  CCJGA慈善大使”称号，Michael 一并感谢其他赞助商如车险网Eric Li, 金牌地产经纪Vicotor Li, Ross Liu, 柳泉酒庄黄总，UPS Timur 印刷的铁木尔印刷赞助, Green Field Golf 的礼品赞助，A99 Golf 提供了价值上千元的高球产品，保险经纪Fiona Ha等，最让人感动的是华高铁杆球友Blanc Lin, 小伙子赞助$200却不图任何宣传回报！ The ceremony began with bidding; we appreciated A99 Golf, Green Field and Willow Springs winery to sponsor the golf products and wine: Travel mate golf bag, C8 golf bag, double layers’ umbrellas, leather bag, ball retrievers, Callaway balls and six bottles of wine. We appreciated the president of HuaRenGolf Mr WenFa He, Accountant Kenny Wan, Canada Union Golf Coach Association Chinese branch president Tommy Tam, Golden reality representative Victor Li to buy the raffle tickets. All the products were sold out on that day, and we raised $255 from the bidding. Mr WenFa He got the biggest prize, A99 Travel Mate Hybrid Bag, Tommy got the A99 leather bag, the president of St Lucia got one pack of Callaway balls, the director of HuaRenGolf Mr XueFeng Chen got two retrievers. Almost every golfers had a taste of the wine. On 9:30pm, the most  important moment: the cheque exchange ceremony. The president of CCJGA with the title sponsor Stanley Wong, the team leader of Canadian team Mr. Frank Forde, the team leader for Korean team, Mr. Sean Kim, and the team leader for Chinese team, Mr WenFa He to present the cheque to the representative of SickKids Foundation, Lisa Walker. President Li said: This was our first time to hold a charity tournament. Although the profit is not high, it would encourage sponsors to work for charities in the future. Then, Mr Li appreciated the title sponsor Mr Wong, and he presented the annual CCJGA charity ambassador certificate and SickKids Foundation certificate to him. Also, Michael Li thanked all the other sponsors for their help for  the tournament, they were Eric Li from Chexian.com, Reality representative Victor Li, Ross Liu, Mr Huang from Willow Springs winery, UPS Timur for printing support, Green Field Golf for gifts support, A99 Golf offered valuable golf products, insurance agent Fiona Ha, and Blanc Lin who donated $200. 随后，本次活动嘉宾和赛事委员会的负责人为在此次比赛中获奖的选手颁发了奖牌和奖杯。所有参赛选手都获得加华青高协颁发的带有Sick Kids Foundation 和CCJGA 商标的感谢状。 Then, the guests and directors in the event committee presented medals and trophies to the winners. All participants got a thanks letter from CCJGA with the logo of SickKids Foundation and CCJGA. 热烈颁奖仪式后，大家纷纷表示，加华青高协倾力主办的多元文化“帮助孩子”高球赛不但为多伦多病童的健康成长做出了贡献，更加强了加拿大各族裔之间的团结和友谊，还让选手们增强了体质，提高了球艺，是一件功德无量的大好事，希望这样的慈善公益活动坚持下去，常办常新。 晚上10：30， 活动在Frank Forde 女儿Suzet热烈的Steel Pan(中美洲一种民族乐器， 用手拍圆形钢制锅样器具）演奏中落下帷幕，小朋友及球友们仍然依依不舍的围在Suzet 的乐器前，沉浸在这个美丽夏日之夜的欢乐之中！

After the award ceremony , people said that the Multi-culture “PlayFordKids”Golf Tournament not only contributed to the benefits of children, but also built the friendship between different cultural group. People exercised and improved their skills during the competition. It was a really good event, and CCJGA should hold it every year.

At 10:30pm, this event ended in the music played by Frank Forde’s daughter Suzette. When she was playing the steel pan-an African instrument, all kids and golfers stayed around, and no one would like the event to be ended.
